Jonathan

Jonathan was delivered at home during the West Kingston Incursion of 2010. In the first few months of life he became severely malnourished and at 6 months old he was diagnosed with chronic kidney failure from abnormal blocked kidneys (obstructive kidney disease). He was very ill at that time and was hospitalized for nearly two years.

His kidney failure progressed despite surgery and at age 5 dialysis was started for end stage kidney disease. Jonathan has severe rickets (bone disease from kidney failure) and his bone medications are expensive and sometimes unaffordable.

Despite his bone deformities, Jonathan is full of life, energetic and attends school regularly. He is from a large family, very bright and talkative.

JKKF pays for his dialysis supplies enabling his Mom to use her limited funds to pay for other crucial medications.
